The Story

I started this blog back in mid July after struggling with my personal walk with the Lord. You may notice that there is a huge gap between my very first post, Walking in a Fog and the following posts. During that time I not only lost my Daddy to a heart attack in August 2014 but I also started to lose my hope and trust in the Lord. Instead of trusting God for all my needs, both physical and spiritual, I looked to myself to find my own way. This resulted in lots of stress and anxiety which eventually brought on many physical problems and some feelings of depression.

Now you may be wondering why I mentioned all that, hold on. The Lord used the memory of my Dad and his total dependence on God for living to open my heart to His tender leading, love and care. You see, my Daddy was an amputee, he was missing his left leg from just below his knee, down. As you can imagine, even with a prosthetic leg, this made even the simplest thing like walking very difficult and often times painful. However, through the pain of this, along with several other ailments and diseases he suffered from, he constantly claimed "the promises of God" and chose to live life to the absolute fullest!

My Daddy loved America, his mini cooper, horse-back riding and sky diving but above all he loved God and his family! My Daddy realized that he may not get tomorrow, so he worked on checking things off his Bucket List and on growing closer to the Savior he would someday meet. My goal in life is to not just follow in his footsteps but to go beyond the trail he left behind!

As I mentioned earlier, walking was very difficult for my Daddy but so it can be said for our Christian walk too. The Lord never promised it would be easy to follow Him but He did promise to be with us every step of the way.

This blog will, most likely, cover a great many topics but it is my goal to walk closer with my Savior through each one of them! Will you join me on the journey?

  1. Love you, Becky!! Your father would be so pleased that you saw something in his life to hold up as an example and that you are using that to rise above anything that would pull you down.
